Please support the River City Junior Crew.

At River City Junior Crew, we use rowing as a way to help us develop champions of character while providing our athletes a path to achieve competitive excellence together as a team.

RCRC has the lowest dues of any comparable program in the Southwest region.  Rather than raising dues, we aim to have our athletes reach out to their circle of supporters and gain broad support.  Our juniors should be proud of the hard work that they do all season long and this is a chance for them to share their sport with people that care about them.

The money we raise first and foremost covers essentials required for this program to exist: pay for our coaching staff, upkeep of our boats and safety launches, entry fees and trailering, and operating costs of our facilities and organization.  Our athletes learn about service to their teammates and to our community.  Any donation is greatly appreciated, and a tax-deductible receipt will be emailed immediately for your records.

A Message from Head Coach Arthur Ericsson...

As the Head Coach of the River City Junior Crew program, I am very excited about the 2022-2023 season. Our junior team is exceptional people to start with, and by surrounding themselves with other motivated and supportive teammates, we all become better.  Our rowers and coxswains persevere and sacrifice for each other, and as a result, gain confidence and compassion for each other.  For these reasons, we are driven to get kids rowing and keep kids rowing.

Each athlete will erg for two hours on both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 & 4.  The locations will help bring awareness to the public about our team.  On day one we will be erging at McKinley Park in midtown Sacramento.  On day two we will be at the Davis Food Coop.  Four hours of erging in two days is a lot of work and we hope to have 100% participation from our team.  If each junior raises $225 we’ll meet our Operating Expenses goal.  After that, we can strive for one of our exciting stretch goals.

$16,000 Junior Team Operating Expenses (running a team with 70 kids six days a week for eight months is expensive)

$17,000 Video image stabilizer (help our team produce high-quality videos for internal and external promotion)

$19,000 Two BikeErgs (great for cross-training and injured athletes, tracks watts and splits just like an erg, two teammates can train side by side)

$21,000 Sweep Oars (4 pairs of Concept2 skinny sweep oars)

$31,000 New 2x/- (double/pair)

$46,000 New 4x/- (quad/four)

Thank you for all you do to support our program!
